PS Edward Kisiang’ani officially opened the Data-Driven Cities: Conference for the Urban Common Good in a Nairobi Hotel.
The Conference is hosted by the Ministry in partnership with the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport and the German Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building.
The prestigious conference has been organized by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) with the aim of bringing together key stakeholders from various countries, including Ghana, Germany, Rwanda and South Africa, to foster innovation and collaboration in the development of smart cities in the participating countries.
Speaking at the conference, the Ministry of Information Cabinet Secretary Hon. Eliud Owalo emphasized on the importance of collaboration and partnership of key stakeholders from various sectors, in advancing the agenda of smart urban development.
“Together, we have the opportunity to co-create innovative solutions, forge strategic partnerships, and unlock new pathways for sustainable urban growth,” the CS remarked.
CS Owalo also urged all stakeholders to remain steadfast in their commitment to upholding principles of data security, privacy, and ethical use.
