President William Ruto has declared to forge a partnership between the government and religious organizations, particularly the Church, to tackle social ills and uplift communities economically.

Addressing the 24th General Assembly at St Andrews PCEA Church in Nairobi, President Ruto commended the vital role played by churches in education, health, and societal awareness.

President Ruto stated, “We will continue to work together with the Church to enhance the living standards of Kenyans.” He highlighted the joint efforts to eradicate illicit brews, drug abuse, and insecurity, urging Church leaders to play a pivotal role in these critical initiatives.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua echoed the sentiment, stating, “The Church can help by establishing rehabilitation centers for those affected by illicit brews and drug abuse.”

National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa emphasized the Church’s role as the conscience of society, underscoring the need for continued collaboration in combating social challenges.

With a focus on job creation and security, President Ruto revealed plans for bilateral labor agreements with 19 countries and initiatives like the affordable housing program to provide employment opportunities for Kenyan youth.
