Kenyans in Hamisi Constituency will now enjoy improved access to theatre services with the official opening of the Sub-County Hospital Twin Theatre Unit on Saturday afternoon by President William Ruto.

During the ceremony, the President who was accompanied by Health CS Nakhumicha Wafula and other officials emphasized the facility’s role in enhancing accessibility to essential services, making them more affordable for residents, and advancing Universal Health Coverage.

President Ruto announced a 50 million shillings allocation for upgrading wards at the hospital, responding to a request from Vihiga County administration led by Governor Dr. Wilbur Ottichilo.

“The injection of more resources into our healthcare system guarantees every Kenyan access to quality services and reduces their financial burden,” remarked H.E at the official opening.

The President had also attended the launch of the Kenya Medical Training College – Ikolomani Campus.

This will provide Iguhu County Referral with quality medical care professionals and improve service delivery.

Iguhu County Referral Hospital is central to the well-being of the people of Ikolomani.

The visit underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing human resources for health, aligning with global standards.

The facility not only offers basic but also emergency care and specialized treatment to more than 30,000 people of Kakamega and the neighboring Vihiga County.

These two events clearly showed the President commitment to improving and bettering the state of healthcare to the Kenyans in the region.
