In a move to address the critical shortage of teachers in the country, the Government has announced plans to hire an additional 20,000 teachers, aiming to establish a realistic and achievable teacher-student ratio.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu, speaking at Kolanya Girls’ National School, emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing the education sector. He highlighted the Kenya Kwanza administration’s success in recruiting 50,000 teachers within its first year in office.

CS Machogu further demonstrated his dedication to improving school infrastructure by presenting Kolanya Girls and St. Paul’s Amukura with Ksh 10 million each to enhance their facilities, aligning them with required standards and accommodating the student population.

Encouraging parents to leverage Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions for equipping their children with relevant job market skills, CS Machogu’s initiatives aim to elevate educational standards nationwide.
